Battle of the Bands was held on Tuesday, September 3rd from 7 P.M.-10:15 P.M. During this event six bands competed for glory. These bands included: Coffee Squad, Caging Elliot, Travis Roberson and The Cousins, Sack House, Black Island Bridge, and Edgewater. They played in twenty minute intervals, each playing their hardest. Hoping to, in the end, be the victorious one. Their victories relied on both the judges and the audience. Voting was held on the Jack FM website, viewers could select the band they most enjoyed so that votes could be counted and scores could be drawn. Audience members could originally vote until 9:30 P.M, but due to complications, the cutoff was pushed back until 10:05 P.M. At 10:15 P.M. the winners were announced. In first place, winning $500 and a commercial schedule on 100 Jack-FM/Eagle 97.3/WTRO, was Black Island Bridge. In second place, winning $250, was Travis Roberson and The Cousins. In third place, winning $100, was Caging Elliot. All in all, it was a memorable experience to get to see at the dyer county fair.
