Top 3 Shows to Binge-watch

Kristen Farley, Journalist

Between Thanksgiving break being the week before last and Christmas break coming soon, we’re all getting a nice break from day-to-day learning, which means more free time at home. While some of us are good at finding things to keep us busy, others are left with nothing much to do. So, a lot of us spend that free time scrolling through Netflix to find new shows to watch. That being said, here are my top 3 shows to binge-watch on Netflix.

Supernatural: The Complete Twelfth Season (DVD) : Target

Supernatural:

Supernatural is a show about two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester, who travel the country killing off all sorts of supernatural beings including demons, shape-shifters, vampires, and vengeful spirits. Their goal is rid the world of as much  evil as they can. As they say in the show “Saving people, hunting things, the family business”. If you ask me, there’s no better way to describe the Winchesters than that. The two get into all sorts of trouble together. However, even when they’re out hunting monsters, there’s nothing more important to them than their family. So, if you’re into shows that include science fiction and horror mixed with just the right amount of action and drama, Supernatural is definitely for you. I should know, i’ve been watching this show forever. It’s probably my favorite of all time; it’s one i’ll always go back to even if I don’t watch it for a while. Plus, there are 15 seasons of the show, so if you’re a hardcore binge-watcher like me, then you don’t have to worry about accidentally watching the entire show in two days.

Criminal Minds: Season 13 (DVD) For Rent or Purchase Now | Family Video
Criminal Minds:

Criminal Minds is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. It’s a show about FBI agents who solve cases and catch criminals. Now, i’m well aware that there are several other cop/FBI/crime shows out there. What makes Criminal Minds different? Well, I wouldn’t really know, to tell you the truth. I’ve been watching this show since I was little, and every other show i’ve seen like it has just never stuck with me the way this one has. I’ve never been able to enjoy another crime show like I enjoy Criminal Minds; they just never interest me as much. All the main characters in the show are FBI agents who have been working together so long that they’re basically family. They care about each other so much, and you can’t help but love them all. Nearly every episode has a different case. It’s never the same thing over and over again; and just when you think the writers have thought of everything, they come up with something new. It’s a show you’ll never get bored of. It’s also a show that’s still on TV, so, if you don’t have Netflix, that’s okay. You can still watch Criminal Minds.

Watch a teaser for new 'Black Mirror' episode 'Death To 2020'
Black Mirror:

Black Mirror is a Netflix original series. Every episode has a different story, but they all have one thing in common: they’re all, in some way, about a new form of technology that causes trouble. Sometimes it helps; most of the time, though, it’s the other way around. I like this show because of how original it is. I’ve never really watched another show that’s like it or, really, even similar to it.  Since every episode is different, each one is like its own individual movie. It’s not a show that you have to watch from the first episode to understand what’s happening. Some of my favorite episodes include “Fifteen Million Merits”, “Black Museum”, and “Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too”. If you like sci-fi shows or movies that are somewhat futuristic then I strongly recommend watching this show. Trust me, once you watch one episode, you’ll be so curious as to what the next one could be about, that you’ll have to watch another.
