The Inauguration of President-Elect Joe Biden will take place on Wednesday, January 20th, 2021 at 11:00 am CT. After being sworn in President Biden became the 46th president in America’s history. His Vice President, Kamala Harris, made history by becoming the first woman and the first Black and South Asian to be sworn into the office of Vice-President. After being inaugurated President Biden signed 17 executive actions that began to overhaul the nation’s approach to the Covid-19 pandemic. To help with the pandemic he made a mask mandate for federal buildings and inter-state travel. He also overturned some of the policies the Trump administration put into effect. President Biden rejoined the Paris Climate Accord whose goal is to limit global warming to well below 2 and preferably to 1.5 degrees Celcius. He also withdrew the ban that Trump put on travelers that were from predominately Muslim countries.

Former President Donald Trump did not attend President Biden’s Inauguration. This is the first time in 150 years, the out-going president will not attend his successor’s inauguration. President Biden did agree that it would be best that former President Trump did not attend the Inauguration. Former President Trump did leave President Biden a letter which was described as “generous.” However, Mike Pence did attend the Inauguration in which President Biden said “welcome.”
