The president has only been in office for 4 months, but there has been a lot that has gone on in that time. The Covid vaccines, there have been protests, and there could be a new Cold War. This last thing is just speculation but could it happen soon.

There has been tension between the U.S and Russia started to rise in only just three months with Biden in office. This would start when in Biden’s first sit-down interview and Biden would call Vladimir Putin a killer. Putin was reported to be very upset about was said about him that he left quartine, got the Covid vaccine, and then Putin would move 28,000 Russian soldiers to the border with Ukraine. This a very scary thing to think about because if something else like that could be said in an interview we might be in the middle of a war between the 2 top powerhouses in the world.

The White House would release a letter that declared a national emergency. The letter would say,” an Executive Order declaring a national emergency with respect to the unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States posed by specified harmful foreign activities of the Government of the Russian Federation.” The letter would also say that Russia was undermining the conduct of free and fair democratic elections. It would also say that Russia was targeting journalists and dissenters outside of its borders, and Russia also violated international law.

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has said that the United States is seeking opportunities to cooperate with Russia. The goal for this is that there will be a more stable and predictable relationship consistent with U.S. interests. According to the Russian state-run media organization, the thing that will best go with Russia’s interest is the principle of reciprocity. If there was supposed to be a meeting between Putin and Biden there could not be talks about potential sanctions. Maria Zakharova a Russian spokesperson said that Russia was going to have a hard conversation with the U.S ambassador.

Russian Bombers went into action which would lead to NATO getting 10 jets to intercept the Russian warplanes. Putin would quietly change the constitution of Russia to let him stay in power until 2036, so we could see something happen before he gets out if tensions keep rising. Three Russian submarines would bust through the Arctic ice and they would have 16 ballistic missiles in each one. The U.S government is keeping a watch on these subs to make sure they do not do anything.

These incidents would lead experts to start to worry about a potential new Cold War between these two countries. This is a scary thing to think about when we might be heading down a road of war if the tension between these countries does not settle.
