Parli

Dyer County’s Parlimentary Procedure in FFA is led by Mr. Dan with the help of seniors, Bailey Bryant and Sydney Campbell. Students that participate in the Parliamentary Procedure Leadership Development Event (LDE) are evaluated on their ability to conduct an orderly and efficient meeting using parliamentary procedure. A mock meeting is conducted where students debate an issue affecting FFA. The students follow Robert’s Rules of Order, which basically outlines how all meetings are supposed to go. FFA students ask questions about rules and proper ways to hold a meeting. Participants involved are judged based on their knowledge of parliamentary law and their ability to present logical, realistic and convincing debate and motions.

According to Bailey Bryant, “Parli is so much fun and such a friendly competition that brings our school’s members of FFA together! All of our early morning and late afternoon practices will hopefully pay off and we will bring home the win!”

Moreover, Dyer County won regionals in 2019, came second in regionals in 2020, and fourth in the state in 2020. This year’s event will take place December 7th and 9th. Members hope to win and we wish the best of luck to all of Dyer County’s Parli participants.
