What Are Some Things You Shouldnt Get Your Significant Other For Valentines Day?

Valentine’s Day is getting closer and closer everyday so you know what that means. Valentine’s Day is the day of the year that couples look forward to so they can spoil their significant other with chocolates, flowers, teddy bears and all those sorts of things. How romantic, right? But perhaps we should discuss what NOT to get your lover for valentines. Mainly your girlfriend, because we all know that people can take things with gifts the wrong way, very easily. But that’s just because we have feelings, it’s normal. February 14th is right around the corner so let’s discuss the must haves and the must NOT haves.

What gifts should you stick with? We all know that girls love the generic bouquet of flowers, cute stuffed animals, a box of chocolate, those are just the normal and expected things that your girlfriend can remember for a lifetime. Of course she may eat the chocolate and the flowers may die, it’s the thought that counts. Like I said, just stick with that:)

What not to get… try not to get the same thing every year, maybe every other year throw something special in the mix, maybe a necklace or some jewelry that may have a deep meaning. Girls love when you get them something they can wear forever because it just means more to them! But yeah, try to change it up a little bit, they like when you throw in cute little surprises. Most of the time it depends on your relationship with your girlfriend… if yall are not as serious then yeah consider the basic gifts they can receive. But maybe you and your significant other have been together for years and maybe even living together. Its all about how much you truly know them. For those who aren’t as close to their significant other, this is what you may need to stay away from.

  • Spanx, just no…
  • An appliance.
  • Fitness equipment, this could make them feel somewhat offended unless they are a gym rat:)
  • Something you want that they won’t use, that way you could use it. That’s just wrong.
  • Anything you may buy at a hardware store.
  • Personal Hygiene products.
  •  Once again a repeat of last year’s gift.
  • Money. Yeah people need money but your s/o may think you had no effort towards their Valentine’s Day gift.

Enough with the gifts, what are things you shouldn’t say to your lover on Valentine’s Day?

  • “I don’t care much about Valentine’s Day”
  • “Roses are red, violets are blue”. That is just so old at this point, be more creative.
  • “I love you more than (Ex’s name) This will honestly just ruin their mood.
  • “I think we should take a break” What the heck, no.
  • “I love you even though you have changed a lot since we first met.” They will automatically think you don’t like who they have become during the relationship.

What are some things you should say to your person on Valentine’s?

  • Don’t be too cheesy about some of the things you say to them. Don’t depend on the internet to tell you what you should say to them. Just come up with things on your own. Open up your heart and say what you feel about them and your relationship.

Now that you’ve read this, you should be an expert about Valentine’s Day, haha just kidding.

Have fun and Happy Valentine’s Day!
