Gas Prices Are Expected to Stay High
March 9, 2022
Last Wednesday, gas prices in the United States reached a record high of $4.25 a gallon. Inflation has caused the price of everything to go up and if gas continues to rise then so will the price of goods as transporting such items becomes more expensive. Americans are having to choose between being able to buy groceries and being able to put gas in their car. America imports a large amount of our oil from Russia. With Russia at war, the Biden administration claims that they can do nothing to make gas cheaper. Critics point out that this is a wildly incompetent response, as Biden’s war on fossil fuels had made gas more expensive before Russia’s war. It’s also forced our country to become more dependent on foreign oil, creating the exact circumstance that we are in. Critics also point out that Biden closed the Keystone Pipeline and halted the Alaska Oil Projects, destroying thousands upon thousands of jobs in a time when Americans are in desperate need of work. Regardless of what can or cannot be done, Washinton has given excuse after excuse to avoid taking responsibility for the rising price of living in America.
