Dyer County Baseball Beats Crockett County in the First Round of District Tournament

Dyer County has won the first round of their 2022 District tournament. The Choctaws hung on to beat Crockett County in the first round, 4-3. Austin Epperson took the mound for the Choctaws and #2 for Crockett County. Crockett’s pitcher gave up 10 hits and 4 runs, with only 2 of those earned, and 2 strike outs with no walks  through 6 innings of work. Meanwhile Epperson tallied 3 strike outs and 4 walks, giving up 3 hits and 3 runs, with only 2 earned through 7. The Choctaws out-hit Crockett County 10-3, with Lane Evans and Parker Patterson leading the way for Dyer County with 2 hits of their own apiece. The Choctaws are looking forward to face off against the Obion County Central Rebels in the second round of their 2022 District Tournament. The Rebels topped the Dyersburg Trojans in the first round 6-4, with Rebels pitcher Brayden Clark throwing a perfect game through 6 innings. The winner of the Obion-Dyer County game will proceed to play in the District Tournament Championship, while the loser will be sent into the losers bracket to play in the losers bracket semifinals.
