Do We Start Decorating for Christmas too Early?

When you look up this question on google the answer you seem to get is yes. It was once considered to be the general rule of thumb to wait until after Thanksgiving before decorating for Christmas. Research shows that before, most people would generally wait till after Thanksgiving to start putting out their Christmas decorations but now, a lot of people don’t seem to wait that long. People seem to get more excited earlier and earlier as the years go on. When you look up what the appropriate time to start decorating for Christmas is, it says December 1st. In my opinion, I think that sounds reasonable. I also think after Thanksgiving

ends, Christmas begins. So, the day after Thanksgiving, I’m ready to decorate for Christmas. Others also think that you’re supposed to start celebrating Christmas, stop to celebrate Thanksgiving, and then you resume celebrating Christmas. I guess it all depends on the person, but most people love Christmas and wanna start celebrating it as soon as they deem it appropriate.

On the other side, some people don’t really look forward to Christmas as much as others and don’t want to start celebrating as early. Christmas can be a stressful time for them or a sad time. They might not like the stress of having to spend all their money, cook all that food, go to all the gatherings, or decorate everything. It might just be more work than enjoyment for them. For others, it could be a difficult holiday because they could’ve lost a loved one and it could be their first holiday without them. Either way, they might not want to start decorating right after Thanksgiving is over like some people do. When do you think is the right time to start decorating for the Holidays?
