On November 13, 2022, 4 college students were found stabbed to death in a house in Moscow Idaho. It’s said at around 11:58 that Sunday morning policemen responded to a call of an unconscious person to be met at the scene of the crime with four dead teenagers on the second and third floors of the house.

 Only three of the victims lived there, Kaylee Goncalves, 21 college senior with a major in general studies, and madison Mogen,21 senior with a major in marketing met each other in 6th grade and became best friends Kaylee’s father Steve said “They went to high school together, they started looking at colleges, they came here together. They eventually got into the same apartment together, and in the end, they died together in the same room, in the same bed”. Xana Kernodle,20 Marketing major part of Pi Beta Phi sorority. The last victim was Ethan Chapin, Xana’s Boyfriend. The couple had been at a recent on-campus college party at the Sigma Chi house, while the two girls were Downtown at a local bar called The Corner Club, They all returned home at around 1:45 that morning. There were calls on Kaylee’s phone to her ex-boyfriend that trace the murders to be around 3 that morning. 

Police said all the victims were likely asleep, there were some defensive wounds and each victim was stabbed multiple times. The three girls had two other roommates that were out that night and got home before them and went to sleep. They both survived, were not attacked, and had no bruises or marks. They were cleared by the police as innocent. The 911 call was traced back to one of the surviving roommate’s cellphones but Chief James Fry told reporters they couldn’t locate the caller’s identity.

Investigators still have no murder weapon or evidence for a suspect, Although mortician O” Toole said the weapon was likely to be a large fixed-blade knife and asked detectives to check all the blood because the offender could’ve cut himself in the process. Although this was one of the most gruesome crime scenes they’ve had in a while they said they took over 4,000 pictures and 3D scans of the house. They said from the small evidence they have received it could’ve been a targeted attack.

According to detectives, there was a 6th person identified on the house lease but was not believed to be home or suspected at the time of the murders. They are currently pulling any nearby surveillance footage for signs of unusual behavior
