STOCKING STUFFERS: What to Get vs What NOT to Get

STOCKING STUFFERS: What to Get vs What NOT to Get

Shea Cox, Journalist

As we all know, 2020 has been an eventful year. It has been full of surprises, most of them being negative. One thing that we all have to look forward to though, is Christmas! Everyone loves this time of year, and honesty, we could use a great Christmas to make up for the terrible year it has been. During the holiday season, most people are getting their Christmas shopping done. This can sometimes be stressful. Today, I’m gonna give you a list of what to get vs what not to get: Stocking addition.

Alright, so let’s just go ahead and get the bad things out of the way: What NOT to get. Okay, when I was thinking of the top three things I WOULDN’T want in my stocking, the first thing that popped into my mind was a mask. Do NOT get someone something that is gonna remind them of COVID-19!

When Christmas comes around, that is the last thing we are going to want to think about. Runner- up to the mask is going to be germ-x. I think we all have plenty of that. Parents, you’re kids aren’t gonna want more germ-x. That’s all that needs to be said about that. Last but not least, please, do not get anyone socks/ underwear. I think that explains itself. No kid or teen is gonna be excited to get socks in their stocking.

Okay, now that we have what NOT to get out of the way, let’s look at what to put in your stocking. So coming from a teen, I can think of plenty things I’d be excited to see in my stocking. First up is pretty obvious: candy/gum. This is a given! We all want some candy in our stocking, I mean come on! Second up is going to be gift cards or money. This is something every teen will use in some way. Lastly, perfume/ cologne! I think this is a pretty good stocking stuffer gift. It is something anyone could use!

All in all, we are all hoping this Christmas will be a good one! We need this holiday season to be stress- free! After 2020, I think we all deserve it! Happy Holidays!
