What to Bring to a Tailgate

Tailgating sporting events is a fun hobby you’re bound to repeat. Since you’ll pack the car more than once to head out and have fun, you could use a few organizational tips. For tailgating in cold weather you will need a few things. Lap blankets, gloves, hand warmers, extra layers, and even a heater. For warmer  weather you will need the opposite. These things will include: a hat, sunglasses, a fan, sunscreen, bugspray, and extra water.

Now that you have your things specified for weather, you’ll need things for tailgating specifically. You will need a grill, a lighter, grilling tools,  hamburgers and hotdogs, chips, a cooler, ice, and drinks. Consider putting food under the canopy and out of the sun. You can also bring mesh food nets to place on top of food to help keep flies and other bugs from landing on it. You will also need cups, plates, utensils and maybe even a few folding tables.

For a tailgate you will probably also want some music, games or other activities so be sure to bring those things too. A good suggestion for a game is cornhole, the most popular tailgating game. When it comes closer to game time, remember to clean up your area before entering the stadium. Pack plastic containers and aluminum foil to preserve any leftover food or snacks, and have a permanent marker ready to label each container. Keep hand sanitizer, wet wipes, paper towels and garbage bags on hand as well to help make cleanup a breeze. Before you know it, it’s game time.
