Childhood Dreams Come True: Polar Express Train Ride

Katie Stover, Editorial Editor

The Polar Express is an iconic Christmas movie from our childhood. Have you ever wished that train would pull up to your house and at midnight? To ride all the way to the north pole, and meet Santa? Well, this is actually something you can do. The North Pole Limited train ride in Chattanooga is our very own Polar Express.

This train ride has been running for over 18 years, beginning in 1999. Rides became available on November 18th and will end on December 31st. Hosted by the Tennessee Valley Railroad, it has become one of the most popular events in the city of Chattanooga. There are sing-alongs, hot cocoa, and storytelling for kids to enjoy during the ride. If your child is afraid of the dark, don’t worry. The train passes many light displays so it’s never dark outside the car.

5:30 PM and 7:30 PM are when evening. Weekend Trains have a different schedule of 11:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 3:30 PM. If your children haven’t mailed their letters to Santa, no need to fret. Santa Claus will make his way down the aisles and your children can tell him all of their Christmas wishes.

This would be a perfect Christmas tradition for your family, and such an amazing memory for your children. The ride is located at Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum at 4119 Cromwell Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37421. You can buy your tickets at https://www.tvrail.com/events-exhibits/rides/north-pole-limited#traintimes. Have fun, and Merry Christmas.
