5 Halloween Costumes For You

For the first time in almost 2 years, Halloween is finally able to be celebrated again. Of course, it’s still important to take caution so as to prevent spikes in COVID cases as well as to prevent any random diseases from festering within the community. People are pretty gross sometimes. Most high schoolers feel as if they are too old to dress up for Halloween, but dressing up does not require trick or treating. I myself will be dressing up this year, just so that some friends and I can drive around and go to a couple of places for the night. Here are 5 of my own costume ideas that I think are simple enough to function but easy enough to identify.
Neo
Everyone knows about The Matrix, but hardly anyone dresses up as this infamous character. It’s a simple costume that could also keep you warm in the cool October air. From combat boots to a trench coat, you can remain functional and comfortable while also showing your Halloween spirit! Here are some individual pieces that you can get cheap near you!

Trenchcoats tend to be more on the pricey side, so I recommend purchasing one from a thrift store. I happen to have bought a leather trench coat from Goodwill in Union City for only $6. You could even find one in a family member’s closet, but this costume piece does not have to be expensive.
Yelena Belova
With the release of Marvel’s Black Widow, I foresee a lot of Yelena Belova underappreciation, so I would like to avoid that situation in Dyer County. I personally believe her to be better than Natasha, so I wholeheartedly think that she should be one of the “basic” costumes of this year. This character deserved much better, as she was never able to have a real family, but she also lost her sister right after they had reunited again, therefore ripping her only sliver of a family away. Her costume should be a little more difficult to come by, but when you are able to get your hands on it, it will be well worth it, as it is also easy to move and dance around in and will likely keep you warm.

Sheri Moon Zombie
While most people don’t pay much attention to Rob Zombie or his wife, it is likely that they have heard of at least one of his songs or movies. Sheri Moon Zombie, married to Rob Zombie, usually plays large roles in his movies, starring in House of 1,000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects, Lords of Salem, 31, 3 From Hell, and more. She also plays in his music videos sometimes, and is all around very involved with her husband’s career. I greatly admire her style and person, as she genuinely seems to love her life as well as the people around her. She also continues to remain true to herself, which is something that seems to become increasingly rare in this age. I chose this red carpet look for this costume because it is one of my favorite looks from her and is still very easy to function and move around in. It will not provide the same warmth as the other costumes, but if you plan on staying indoors most of your Halloween night or are hot natured, this would be the perfect look for you! This costume may require some DIY, as her shirt appears to be slightly cropped, but it shouldn’t be anything too complicated for anyone!

Sir Herschel Shmoikel Pinchas Yerucham Krustofsky
More commonly known as Krusty the Clown, Sir Herschel Smoikel Pinchas Yerucham Krustofsky came to my head as an idea to me today because a friend of mine is thinking about dressing up as him for the name game day. This is because as I am writing this part of the article, it is the week before football homecoming. Send help. Krusty is a popular character in the iconic Simpsons franchise, and I find him to be the easiest to dress up as, as well as the most humorous. In this costume, not only will you be able to easily move around, but you will also be able to terrify any small children that you do not want around you(Dyer County High School nor do I endorse this action, as well as any other action taken by Krusty the Clown). You may not be as warm in this character as you would be in Neo or Yelena, but you will get some great laughs from those around you.
This costume involves the use of hair gel, which I previously listed on Neo’s costume.

The Colossal Titan(but fashionable)
So far, I have gotten through season 1 of Attack on Titan, but because of my attachment to Hange, I refuse to watch past season 1. However, after seeing the colossal titan, I believe that it could use some sprucing up. Knowing what I know about it(I know information that far surpasses season 1), I believe it should match its true mysticity. With some chiffon or maybe even silk, I know that the colossal titan can look much better than some muscle freak with no skin. You can be warm in this costume, or you can freeze your skin off with dry ice and go for the true titan smoke that we all so dread. I introduce to you, colossia titania.
