What are some fun things to do in the fall to celebrate the new season? There can be multiple things to do with friends and family during the months of October and November. Leaves are falling, the temperatures are starting to be cooler and nature is starting to change all around us. Fall is many peoples’ favorite season so this is a very exciting time for them, but why? Maybe because of all the fun things you can do!

One of the first things you can do is decorate! Many people start bringing out all their fall decorations as soon as September is over. Some decorations have something to do with pumpkins, leaves, ghosts, and spooky things.

During the fall, Halloween is an upcoming holiday so some activities may be to go do something to get a good scare out of you. Many people are attending haunted houses as a fun way to have a thrill to get you in the Halloween spirit!

Examples of activities…

  • Go to a pumpkin patch. Take some friends along to a pumpkin patch with you, pumpkin patches have always been a really popular activity to do during the fall. You may get pumpkins, pet some of the animals that they have, or even go on a hayride!
  • Light a fall candle scent. Many people go to any local candle, or fragrance store and buy the newest fall scents to make their home smell very “festive”. Some fall scents in the fall collection sold at Bath and Body Works may be Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, Pumpkin Pecan Waffles, Pumpkin Apple, Pumpkin Snickerdoodle, Sweet Kettle Corn, Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow, Pumpkin Cupcake, White Pumpkin, and many more.

  • Make fall candy, like caramel apples.    Recipe for homemade caramel apples!
  • Ingredients -Heavy Cream- Light Corn Syrup- Brown Sugar- Butter- Salt and Vanilla Extract.
  • Pull out the apples stem and insert a caramel apple stick.  To make the caramel, cook the first 5 ingredients on the stove until the candy reaches 235 F. This should take about 15-20 minutes. Then remove your caramel from the stove and stir in your vanilla. Let your caramel sit and cool for a few minutes and then dip your apples in. Place then on a nonstick surface while the caramel sits. • Have a fall photoshoot. Many people have been seen doing the “Pumpkin head” trend where you carve a pumpkin enough to put it on your head. This is a really cute fall/halloween trend that couples, friends, or even you by yourself can do!

  • Go through a corn maze. Going through a corn maze has always been a tradition for some people, corn mazes have been around forever and are a very fun and mind working experience:)

  • Carve and paint pumpkins. You can carve pumpkins and paint them with your family and friends as a fun way to bond. Carving and painting pumpkins has always been a tradition for my family and many others. Maybe you can make this a tradition for yours if it isnt already.

  • Drink warm apple cider. Warm apple cider is a drink that many people always have during the fall season or maybe even yearly. You can drink it cold or warm and it is very good, I recommend trying it if you havent yet!

  • Wear cute, comfy fall sweaters. Fall fashion is a very fun way to express your “fall spirit”. Plus the weather is starting to get cooler so it’s time to dress warmer.

  • Watch your favorite halloween movies! Some classical movies to watch during fall may be, Hocus Pocus (1993), Halloween Town (1998), Beetlejuice (1988), It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966), The Addams Family (1991), and Paranorman (2012). There is plenty more movies out there to watch for the halloween/fall season, Happy Binging!

  • Have a bonfire with family and friends, and make s’mores. Considering the temperatures are dropping especially around nightime, having a fire to sit around with s’mores, blankets, family, and friends.

  • Jump in a pile of leaves! This may have been something you done as a kid, so bring out your inner child and rake up a pile of leaves!

There can be so many ways to enjoy the new fall season! Many people enjoy this season rather than the summer season, so maybe if you aren’t a big fan of fall…then try some new things, maybe you will become a fall person! You never know… Happy Fall!
