The 2021-2022 Super Bowl is Finally Here

Eli Powell

The Super Bowl has finally made it to the players and the fans all over the world. The last two teams standing are the Los Angeles Rams, and the Cincinnati  Bengals. The two teams are in two completely different situations; the Rams being a more veteran player based team, and the Bengals having more young stars on their team. The Rams quarterback, Matthew Stafford, is going to be rapping up his twelfth season in the NFL with the Super Bowl. The veteran will be facing off against the young gun-slinger QB, Joe Burrow. Burrow tore his ACL in his rookie season is 2020, putting an end to his season in just week 11. Where these two Quarterbacks do overlap is the fact that this has been a first career playoff run for both Quarterbacks. Stafford who is 33, never got a chance to be in a playoff game with the Detroit Lions, having played his first 11 years in the league with them. Matthew Stafford was traded prior the the 2021-2022 season to the Rams for an exchange in QB’s.

The Quarterback position is not the only place where the two teams differ, although Burrow and Stafford have many differences. The two big stories in the NFL this season has been the Bengals high-powered offense, and the Rams Wide Receiver Cooper Kupp’s record breaking season. Kupp has had arguably the best season by a receiver ever. While Ja’marr Chase, the rookie Bengals receiver has had the best season ever by a rookie, and it has been unquestionable. Both teams have had the best two offenses in the NFL this season. The Bengals are full of young stars: QB Joe Burrow is 24, Running Back Joe Mixon is 25, WR Ja’marr Chase is 21, and WR Tee Higgins is just 23. The Rams are lead by a more veteran offense: QB Matthew Stafford is 33, WR Cooper Kupp is 28, and WR O’dell Beckham jr is 29.

The Rams have the best defense in the NFL, lead by stars Aaron Donald, Von Miller, Jalen Ramsey, who have all been veterans in the league for a few years. The big question is: Can the Rams dominating defense stop this high-powered Bengals offense? The world will find out on February 13, 2022. The Sunday night game will be set to take place at SoFi Stadium, the Rams’ home field. We will see how much the home field advantage leans in the Rams favor. This Super Bowl should be one of the best ones yet!
