The Kardashian-Jenner family is celebrity royalty. Over the last decade, they have built an empire off of their name with their reality show, makeup brands, clothing brands, fragrance brands, and even alcohol brands. However, all of these women were born into a world of luxury and fame. The Kardashian’s father was a famous lawyer who defended OJ Simpson and the Jenner’s father was an Olympic athlete. The family has gone viral several times for simply being out of touch with reality and has been involved in several scandals for being insensitive.

One of the first insensitive controversies they were involved in was the launch of their credit card, the Kardashian Card. It was targeted at teens and it was extremely expensive, $100 just to own the card every year and then an $8 monthly fee. There were also additional fees for doing things like speaking with an operator or putting money on the card. In short, it was ripping people off, and the Kardashians were forced to cancel the cards just weeks later.

The Kardashians have also always been a controversy for promoting unhealthy behaviors and body images. Back in 2018, fans were furious with Kim Kardashian for promoting an appetite suppressant lollipop that claimed to have chemicals to make you feel less hungry. Of course, this is eating disorder behavior to try and not eat by sucking on a chemical-filled lollipop. Kim also caught a lot of heat at the Met Gala this year for not only wearing Marilyn’s dress, but also for openly admitting to basically starving herself to fit into the dress. She went on the internet stating that she had not eaten any carbs or sugar to lose 16 pounds in three weeks. In 2019, Khloe Kardashian also caught heat when she went on a podcast and made statements about people complaining they’re fat and not doing anything about it. This is easy for someone with a nutritionist and a personal trainer as well as endless amounts of free time.

In short, being born into a rich and powerful family keeps you out of touch with reality. The Kardashian-Jenner women really never stood a chance to know what life is like for most people. They will continue to spark controversy by being insensitive to those less fortunate than them. The only concern for the rest of us, is how bad the next generation of their family will be.
