Let’s start off with what we know. Russia and Ukraine have been fighting for about 8 months since Vladimir Putin declared war on the independent country of Ukraine. Obviously, this caused conflict because countries bordering Ukraine were unsure whether or not they would be secure from the attack. Many of these countries involved in the NATO alliance were concerned that this would grow into something more. This conflict significantly escalated within the United States since the beginning of the war, and people are worried this conflict could further intensify until possible nuclear armageddon.

On Thursday, October 6th, President Joe Biden talked about the possibility of nuclear armageddon. People say the purpose of Biden’s action was to deter Putin from using any sort of nuclear weapon, even the smallest battlefield device. On the other hand, Biden’s comments have made Putin sure that his nuclear threats have worked and that countries are unsure what he might do. No one knows what will happen but Biden is the first president in 30 years to face the possibility of nuclear war with Moscow. We will just have to hope that it doesn’t become a reality.
