Kanye West & Yeezy

Kanye West or “Ye” has recently been fired from a 9-year contract with Adidas to make his famous “Yeezy” shoes. On Tuesday, October 25, Adidas announced that Ye would no longer be making Yeezys with them because of his antisemitic remarks some of which had even been seen on his clothing. The company said “Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech,” The company also said that West’s recent comments “have been unacceptable, hateful, and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness. Not only did Adidas cut ties with West, Instagram and Twitter suspended his accounts, and Balenciaga has distanced itself from him. Adidas has already had hate for staying with Kanye for this long. Adidas said earlier this month that it was putting its deal with West “under review.” And due to West’s recent remarks, Adidas’s stock price has dropped 23 percent over the past month. Therefore, we will no longer be seeing the Yeezy shoe being sold from Adidas and continue to hear backlash against Kanye.
