This past Sunday the New York Giants won their first playoff game since 2011. They played the Minnesota Vikings and won 31-24 on the Viking’s field. Daniel Jones, their quarterback, had 78 rushing yards, 301 throwing yards, and two touchdowns. Saquon Barkley had two touchdowns and 56 yards which helped with their win. The last time the Giants even made it to the playoffs was in 2016.

The last time the Giants won a playoff game, they won the Super Bowl. Eli Manning was the quarterback and won a great game against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. The Giants are somewhat of an underdog this season. They unexpectedly beat the number three seed Vikings. Now they are onto the divisional round and face the Philadelphia Eagles. However, some Giants fans have hope. In 2011 the Giants went 9-7 and somehow won the Super Bowl. The Giants started this season out hot by going 6-1. Toward the end of the regular season, they lost some games but still found a way to make it. If they beat the Eagles, they will be the team to look out for.

Even though the Giants don’t have Patrick Mahomes or Mike Evans they still run an effective offense. They have slowly been attacking the defense aggressively with their passing game while still utilizing their running game with Saquon Barkley. Barkley is one of the best running backs in the game. Even though they don’t have the star players like some teams everyone works together to make a star team. If they pull off a win against the Eagles this Saturday they will be a great contender for the Super Bowl.
