Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis’ only daughter, died Thursday after being hospitalized for a medical emergency. Her age was 54. Her mom, Priscilla Presley said in a statement, “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.” The sudden news of her death has left her friends, fans, and those in the media with feelings of devastation. The news of her death was so shocking because she was at the Golden Globes ceremony on Tuesday. Much of her life was filled with tragedy, though. Whenever she was 9 her father, Elvis, died. She has also dealt with severe drug use throughout her life, and has had 4 different husbands. Two of those were Micheal Jackson and Nicolas Cage. Lisa Presley had two children, Riley Keough and Benjamin Keough, with her former husband Danny Keough. Benjamin Keough died by suicide in 2020 at the age of 27. Presley was very open about her grief, writing in an essay that she had “been living in the horrific reality of its unrelenting grips since my son’s death two years ago.” Even though that she has experienced many difficulties throughout her life, she will be missed from all the people who knew her best.
