    Brian Cohee

    March Story
    Brian Cohee

Brian Cohee is a 19-year-old from  Grand Junction who is being charged with first-degree murder. On the night of February 27, 2021, Brian committed the murder and beheading of 69-year-old Warren Barnes. Warren Barnes was a homeless man who was known for never causing any issues and living his own life under a bridge.

Brian was on a drive and claimed to “not be in the right state of mind that night.” He claimed to have the urge to kill and find out what cutting a human body feels like. He was under this highway bridge and found this homeless man asleep and started to stab his neck which led to the man’s tragic death.

In the investigation room when Brian was getting questioned by the investigators he was laughing and smiling as he described the steps he took. Later in time he was charged with first degree murder. Brian also took the steps to plead not guilty due to insanity. Brian will be serving life in prison without parol.
