Dyer County Fair

Skyler Harris, Editor in Chief

The first week of September is always an anticipated time of the year in Dyer County, Tennessee. The fair is a special place where teenagers from different schools, from around the county go to have quality time with one another. To them, it is an escape from daily life, a place where people can get together and let loose with one another. There are multiple events that happen during the week of the fair and they include: Fairest of the Fair and Battle of the Bands. These events are some of the main attractions of the fair that help pull people in. Overall the fair is a great time in the month of September for the people of Dyer County to go and enjoy crazy fun rides, mouth watering food, and fun interactions with animals.

Fairest of the Fair- by Ali Spence

There was a great turn out at the Fairest of the Fair beauty pageant! There were many contestants from Dyer County High School, as well as Dyersburg High School. They all looked so beautiful, but sadly there could be only one winner. The winner of the pageant was Erin Welch from Dyersburg High School with her first maid, Abby Patterson, and her second maid, Mallory Edgin also from Dyersburg High School. First maid Abby Patterson, senior at Dyer County High School, was wearing a beautiful mint green dress.
