Corvette+E-Ray

On January 17, 2023, Chevrolet unveiled their new Corvette E-Ray hybrid car. It has a 160 horsepower front-mounted electric motor and a 495 horsepower mid-mounted 6.2-liter V-8 combined for 655 horses. This Corvette has an all-wheel drive system, allowing for more traction and acceleration boosts. This electric motor is not for driving on, though. It is designed more to help in acceleration, giving a 2.5-second 0-60 time. The electric motor is only capable of 4 miles of range, so don’t plan on driving on it. The E-Ray’s unique hybrid powertrain is accompanied by a host of exclusive features as well as hardware normally reserved for the hardcore Z06. Not only does the hybrid inherit the track-oriented car’s huge hips, which are 3.6 inches wider than the Stingray’s, but it also comes standard with carbon-ceramic brakes. Believe it or not, Corvette fans were not happy that Chevy messed with the recipe of their favorite car. While moving its small-block V8 from the front to the middle helped unlock a previously unachievable level of performance, fundamentalists were angry that the bow-tie brand went too far with the C-8 generation. Either way, this is a breakthrough for the Corvette and maybe a new generation for this car from now on.
