The Tennessee men’s basketball team has reached its highest rank since the 2018-19 season. They’re record is now 18-3. Having scored 731 points, they were ranked #2, right behind 21-1, Purdue. The Vols had won 4 straight games after their first home game loss to Kentucky. Many believed that if February went well for the Vols, they very well may become #1. However, after a loss to Florida, the TN vVls moved down to #5. A big part of Tennessee’s team is point guard, Zakai Zeigler, who was named SEC player of the week.  

For the lady Vols, their record is 17-9, being ranked #3 in the SEC. The TN vols went on a 9 game winning streak until Uconn knocked them off, as the Vols lost 84-67. Many people believe that the Tennessee Lady Vols cannot beat ranked teams. However, their rebuild is still in process. One of the Lady Vols’ biggest threats is senior guard, Jordan Horston. She became the 48th player in Lady Vol history to surpass 1,000 career points. 

Both of the Tennessee Vols women’s and men’s basketball teams are working hard to win. Both teams have a chance to do something great. They are both looking to get into the sweet 16 and an NCAA championship. Only time will tell what these teams can do with their season.
