In recent weeks, a new open-source AI dubbed Chat GPT has taken over the internet by storm. The AI interacts with the user like a human, conversing and following commands. The AI can answer questions, help with your writing, or give you company. But that’s not the only use of this artificial intelligence, it can also follow commands. 

People have been attempting to automate and optimize their journalism and writing skills. And as time goes on, AI is getting better and better at imitating the writing skills of various notorious authors. This has become a large problem in schools and universities because students use AI to write their papers for them. This begs the question of whether is this considered cheating or whether is it using all available resources.

As a journalist, I’m supposed to remain impartial and not give my personal opinion on articles. However, with a topic like this, I feel the need to have some sort of input. The future of technology and AI is approaching. No matter how hard we want to deny it. It won’t be delayed and we cannot pretend to not notice it. It’s best to embrace it and study it, better to be educated and knowledgeable than not.
